Yogyakarta, 17 January 2025 – The weekly routine program organized by the Adiwiyata team of SMA Negeri 6 Yogyakarta together with the Muda Wijaya Green School Community (MWGSC) is Environmental Education and Conservation (PRLH). The aim of PRLH activities is to increase awareness of all school elements towards preserving a clean, healthy and environmentally friendly school environment. Friday, January 17 2025, routine activities from each Adiwiyata division Working Group were carried out actively and productively. There are 10 Working Groups in the Adiwiyata team at SMA Negeri 6 Yogyakarta, namely Water Conservation Working Group, Recycling Working Group, Waste Bank Working Group, Composting Working Group, Toga, Energy Conservation Working Group, Canteen Working Group, Biopori Working Group, Greenhouse Working Group, and Health Care Working Group.
SMA Negeri 6 Yogyakarta focuses on a zero waste program. Some of the steps taken are not to provide rubbish bins in the school environment, everyone is responsible for the rubbish they produce and takes their own rubbish home. The next step is a plastic-free canteen, school residents will start using their own tumblers and lunch boxes to buy snacks in the canteen. Environmental conservation activities with Kitchen Waste Lodong (Losida) as a place to dispose of food or organic waste which will be processed into compost. The waste bank manages inorganic waste that can be recycled into goods that have useful and useful value. Water and energy conservation continues to be carried out as an effort to preserve the school environment which supports a learning atmosphere that is energy efficient, healthy and full of enthusiasm. SMA Negeri 6 Yogyakarta will continue to consistently be a school that is friendly and cares about the environment.
